What will I learn?
This course provides students with the skills and qualifications to improve their English language skills to progress to further education or employment. The course is structured to provide students with a high standard of training and assessment leading to a recognised English Language certification, as well as QQI accredited modules.
How is this course taught?
This course is taught in the Castlemill Education Centre in Balbriggan. Classes take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 – 14:45. Please note, all class times and days can be subject to change.
When will this course take place?
The next course will start in September 2026 and finish in May 2027. Students will have holidays during school midterms, Christmas and Easter.
Who can apply for this course?
Adults aged 18 or older who live in the Fingal area can apply for this course. To ensure that you are offered a place on a course which is at the right level for you and appropriate to your learning needs all applicants are assessed prior to placement on the course.
Am I eligible for course funding?
Students on this course are eligible for funding if:
- they are an early school leaver, or
- they are receiving a social welfare payment, or
- they are receiving a carer’s payment, or
- they have a medical card or G.P. card, or
- they are signing for credits.
